The benefits of vitamin C!

Vitamin C is the resistance vitamin. It is also known as ascorbic acid. The vitamin is known
for its many health benefits, but what are they? And what is vitamin C in? You can read all
about it in this blog.
Why is vitamin C so important for
your body? We have listed it.
Vitamin C keeps your immune system working properly.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant and protects your body cells from external harmful
substances.
With adequate intake of vitamin C, your body can better extract iron from food, giving you energy.
This vitamin plays an important role in the production of collagen, which is important for strong bones, teeth, blood vessels and radiant skin.

What’s high in vitamin C?
Men and women 14 and older need about 75 milligrams of vitamin C daily. Pregnant
women need 85 milligrams, and breastfeeding women should get 100 milligrams
daily. Our bodies cannot make vitamin C themselves. Fortunately, it is easy to get
enough vitamin C if you follow a healthy and varied diet.
The resistance vitamin is found mostly in vegetables, fruits and potatoes.
Consider citrus fruits, kiwis, strawberries, berries, tomatoes, bell peppers,
broccoli, brassicas and both sweet and regular potatoes.
Tips
Vitamin C dissolves in water and is sensitive to high temperatures. So a tip: If you re
going to cook vegetables with vitamin C, don t use too much water and don t
overcook the vegetables. Also skip peeling your apple, pear or kiwi, because vitamin
C is mainly in the skin!
